Hello!  We're the Core Group, beavering away behind the scenes to keep Wallingford LETS running smoothly.  Please do contact any of us with any suggestions or feedback, we're always on the lookout for bright ideas.

We have regular meetings and members are more than welcome to come along, or get more involved and join the Group.

Mary Broster

Treasurer for Sterling

Mary looks after your subscription money and pays for things like postage and stationery and some entertainment expenses.  She leads the rambling group, loves flowers both wild and garden, lives in a little house and has a cat called Molly.

Jane Hutchins

Responsible for newsletter and membership database

Having been Co-ordinator of Wallingford LETS for the last few years, Jane decided that autumn 2005 was the time to retire from that particular role.  However, she is continuing with her responsibility to compile, edit and distribute regular newsletters. The bright orange, illustrated and newsy information sheets are circulated to all members giving reports of past and details of upcoming events, advertisements of specific skills and/or wants and introducing/welcoming new members to the group.  Jane also holds the current membership database.

Since joining LETS in 1999, Jane has received and given much help through the scheme.  Moving house not just once but twice, was a cinch; collecting a sofa nightmare turned into a fun evening out and many a social gathering has been held at her home with delightful friends who have met as a result of being members of LETS.

Dennis Rimmer

Recorder for LETS accounts

Dennis receives the Castles cheques specifying trades between members.  Periodically he sends out statements of accounts to members so that they can check their balance and check that trades have been accurately recorded.

Ann Truesdale

Co-ordinator

Ann has been a member of LETS since 2004 and is responsible for co-ordinating the work of the Core Group and organising publicity.  It is Ann's responsibility to chair and minute Core Group meetings as well as oversee and ensure the smooth running of the scheme.  She finds LETS a great way to meet new friends and get things done.

Ann enjoys gardening, Scottish country dancing, wildlife and conservation as well as walking.

Simon Wallis

Organises the e-mail list and maintains the web site

Simon is moderator of the LETS e-mail list, by which members can advertise their needs and services.

Simon has been a member of LETS since the start, and earns copious Castles by administering to the computer needs of the distressed gentlefolk of Wallingford.

Maureen Wood

Responsible for the LETS directory

Maureen has recently taken over the role of Directory Compiler and it is her job to ensure that all entries are current and correct.

Maureen lives in Henley and enjoys visiting her family in Canada and her home in Spain.

Val Woodings

Responsible for publicity

Val joined LETS right at the beginning and as part of a small group set up this wonderful organisation.  She has used it in so many ways; going to the airport is the next one.  She really enjoys the social fun we have as well as the work side.  She now co-ordinates the distribution of 'welcome packs' for potential members, after handing over the directory which she had operated for many years.  She lives in Wallingford with her husband, loves gardening and the arts and does the odd bit of sewing! (I think she means "occasional bit of sewing" - Ed.)
